It is Coming From the Heart

Coming from the heart

Some find it funny when they see people cry over a book they are reading or a tv or movie they are watching. They find it weird seeing people cry over something that is considered fictional.

Honestly, I admire these people.  It only shows their human side. Like any other human being, they have emotions.   They know how to empathize. They do not look at the persona but they relate to the emotions not the person.

Emotions are very powerful.  A thunderous laughter can spread like a virus across a room.  A grieving sadness over the loss of a loved one can spread like fire.  Unconsciously, our emotions make us better human beings. They can make us more compassionate and loving towards other people.  Through our emotions, we are able to genuinely relate to others. Helen Keller was on point when she said – “The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart.” That is what emotions enable us to do.  Go beyond the mind, and let the heart dictate.

When we make decisions in life, it is always a battle of what the mind says versus what the heart says.   I would say that decisions made from the heart are more genuine because they are based on our feelings. Decisions made from the mind have the tendency to be stoic because they are based on the facts.  Our emotions are what guides us through every decision making process in our lives.

However, we need to safeguard our emotions because sometimes they can backfire on us.  Remember the crimes of passion? Their emotions overpowered their senses and pushed them to make wrong choices in life.

In the end, it is our emotions that paint the landscape of our experience and guide our imagination to shape and focus our wildest dreams.
